We’ve just wrapped up the principal filming for a new BMW short film and it is looking pretty damn sweet (if we do say so ourselves). Unfortunately we’ve been hit with a gag order so can’t say too much about it or show you exactly what it involves. Naturally this is a wee bit frustrating so in the mean time you can take a look at us making it. Phase 1 launches on August 16th so we’ll be updating here as we go. We had a blast filming this, hoping you’ll have a blast watching the final product!
Here’s collection of images from the upcoming “Inappropriate Golden Books” by the Pixar artist J. Cooley. I can’t wait to get my hands on these. I’d especially love that T-1000 one as a T Shirt. You can find more examples on his site linked above. Enjoy
If this campaign from BBH New York and director Aaron Duffy doesn’t win a Black Pencil, I will eat my proverbial hat! Brilliant.
This is our spooky poster design for our 1930’s sci fi promotion trailer (click poster for video link). The film was shot over the course of a week using our staff and friends as cast with locations all over Beijing; from the hutongs of nan luo gu xiang to the abandoned factory spaces of 798. The death ray itself was constructed following the specifications of Dr. Grordborts original design. Post production took about a week to turn our crisp sound and film into what you see and hear today. Thanks to everyone! Now settle in, crank your sound and simply enjoy the terror.
It’s been a busy launch for us. On top of designing the new web site, cards, identity and stationary, show reels and 100 other incidentals, we’ve been busy making a short film; Rick Stanning and the Billicon Incident.
From the stills below it probably looks like a bunch of people wearing big boxes on their heads but really it’s… well there are people with boxes on their heads yes, but we’re replacing the faces with visual effects and other cool techy thingies.
We’ve just wrapped up the initial filming and we’re into the editing stage, expect Rick Stanning to dance onto a screen near you in 2010. Featuring music by Electric Six and several local Beijing bands. Watch this space for more info.
