beijing is the new hollywood

Like a horse in the sky is a Chinese expression meaning fluid expression and creativity. Jung von Matt commissioned us to create a sky where Beijing’s creative advertising agencies are the horses, munching complacently on the clouds. Everything is business as usual, until one day a wooden horse arrives…

This video announces the opening of Jung von Matt Beijing’s new office. Have fun at the party gents, and remember to use the urinal.

Russian punk outfit Biting Elbows’ music video Bad Motherfucker has taken subjective cinema to the next level. It’s a balls out chase, all shot from the hero’s point of view on the ultra portable GoPro camera. The camera was mounted on a full-face helmet (check out the gallery photo below). No word on how many of them got smashed jumping out of moving cars and such.

The popularity of this video could mean big things for the director, Biting Elbows’ frontman Ilya Naishuller. According to a recent interview with BigThink, he’s beating off would-be agents with a dead dog. Nice.

We’ve all been there…late nights at the office. Killing ourselves for that next big project, chasing the dream – but what’s happening at home while we’re away on business? What affect does this lifestyle have on our family and indeed our very souls?! Hang on to your underpants viewer, because you’re about to find out.

We made this nifty viral for furniture big shots Red Star Macalline, racking up over 10 million views in mainland China. Props to Cai at Verawom Shanghai for the thought-provoking script.

Meet Stefan, your average thirty-something city dweller who looks like a nerd. He’s awfully busy at work and when he comes home he wants life hassle free. New movies on demand, convenient shopping, a family spending time together, that sort of thing.

Fortunately for our hero, there’s Lenovo Smart TV; an all-in-one voice activated butler that does everything but wash the dishes. No believe? Watch it save the world in our four part animation series. Hugs and kisses to our good friends at Dentsu Beijing.

Between projects, we tend to get a little weird. Without clients to reel us in, there’s no telling where our minds will wander! This is my best attempt at explaining Mandy, the lovable girl with a very serious problem. Coming to internets near you this fall.

Awesome Japanese mecha warriors might just kill us all and soon, thanks to our friends over at Suidobashi Heavy Industry. They have developed a massive human operated robot called KURATAS, capable of firing twin six-barrelled gatling guns at 6,000 rounds per minute. While it currently rolls around at a snail-paced 10km/h and only fires BB pellets, we’re curious to see what the next generation brings, and which super hero is going to stop it. Own yours today for today for only USD $1 million.

We had a bit of downtime between projects, so decided to cook up a new character. Trained by Yoda himself, meet the mixed-media animation with a moving personality. When he’s not setting high school students on fire or blowing up heads, he’s just alone in his bedroom practicing his skills. He still has a long way to go, as you’ll see in this video.
